This Privacy Policy describes how the application "DocScan Lite" ("the App", "we", "our") handles user data.
The App is designed to operate offline and does not require user accounts. We do not collect any personal information directly from you.
All document scanning, text recognition (OCR), and PDF generation are performed locally on your device using Google ML Kit on-device models. The App does not send your scanned documents, recognized text, generated PDFs, or any related data to any external server controlled by us.
Scanned images and extracted text are stored exclusively in the App's private storage on your device.
The App uses Google ML Kit Document Scanner and Google ML Kit Text Recognition. Both run entirely on your device. No images or text are sent to Google servers during scanning or OCR. For details about Google ML Kit, see: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms
The first launch of the Document Scanner may trigger a one-time module download from Google Play Services. After this initial setup, all processing occurs locally without further data transmission.
The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process certain information as described in the Google Privacy & Terms (https://policies.google.com/privacy). This may include device identifiers and usage data for personalized advertising.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings under "Google" > "Ads" > "Opt out of Ads Personalization".

All this data is stored only on your device. The App does not back up your documents to any cloud service controlled by us.
You can delete individual documents from within the App, or delete all data by uninstalling the App or clearing the App data from your device settings.
The App allows you to share scanned documents (as images) and generated PDFs through your device's standard sharing mechanism. When you initiate a share, you explicitly choose the destination (email, messaging, cloud, etc.). The App does not share any data automatically.
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
